Asus has quietly announced two additions to the Zenbook line regarding screens.Zenbook 13S with new AMD Limited but slowly growing A lineup of 13-inch OLED laptops for consumers who want the benefits of OLED technology at an affordable price. But Asus isn’t leaving Intel behind. The company also announced the new Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED Convertible with a 12th generation Core processor and Arc GPU.
The Zenbook 13 S OLED looks just like the 13-inch Zenbook I’ve seen so far. It weighs 2.2 pounds and is just over 0.5 inches thick. There are fun colors such as Ponder Blue, Aqua Celadon, Refined White and Bestige Beige. But most interestingly, the word “Asus”, famous for its Zenbook lid, has been replaced with a new arrow-shaped logo. This looks much better to me and looks like something I don’t mind staying in the coffee shop all day long.
About the screen: This is a 2.8K 16:10 touch screen with a response time of 0.2ms and a peak brightness of 550nit. 13-inch OLED Zenbook reviewed last year It provides a vibrant and bright experience, and such screens may be a good option for multimedia display. In terms of connectivity, it has an audio jack (not found on modern Zenbooks) and three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports that support DisplayPort and Power Delivery. It seems sad that there is no USB-A.
The 13 S is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 6000 processor, including the Ryzen 5 6600U or Ryzen 7 6800U. It can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM (LPDDR5) and 1TB of storage. We haven’t been able to do a lot of testing with these processors yet, but they say they have more capacity than they can handle the entertainment, office work, and other tasks commonly found on 13-inch laptops. I’m looking forward to it.
Asus won’t tell you the price or release date for this device, but the 13.9-inch Zenbook S (without OLED) Currently for $ 1,699.98..
On the Intel side, the Zenbook Pro 15 FlipOLED is more like a workstation device. It is equipped with a 12th generation processor up to Core i7-12700H and an Arc GPU up to A370M. Its 15.6-inch screen has a resolution of 2880 x 1620 and a refresh rate of 120Hz with a 16: 9 aspect ratio (not good).
