update: Fortnite developer Epic Games has released update 20.20. According to insiders like Hypex, the new update adds a ranger shotgun, a high-damage single-shot weapon. However, unlike regular shotguns, ranger variants are effective over long range. The latest update seems to add multiple Star Wars items to the game file. Probably in time for Star Wars Day on May 4th. Elsewhere, Epic is said to be working on creative mode level management tools and terrain editors. • At the beginning of the season, adjusted the surge damage to hit the player every 10 seconds when the surge became active.

original: Fortnite Fans are counting down to the release of the long-awaited 20.20 update. Fortnite Update 20.20 has a release date of April 19th and a BSTUK launch time of 9am. Of course, like all major Fortnite updates, you’ll have to survive hours of server downtime on your PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PC, Android, and Nintendo Switch. Epic Games will disable matchmaking at 8:30 am before taking the game offline for maintenance at 9 am.
This news was announced on Twitter by Epic Games and gave a quick tip on what to expect.
“The front is changing and the v20.20 update will be released on April 19th,” read Epic’s tweet. “Downtime begins at 4am (Eastern Time) and the match expires 30 minutes in advance.”
Judging from the tweets, Epic Games is preparing to tweak the map as the battle between Seven and IO continues to change the shape of the island. When the download ends on April 19, you’ll expect some major map changes and updated points of interest.

It’s on top of the new “How Sweet” emotes that will join the item shop after the release of the update.
